Peculiar portrait of former secret service man under Canaris.
Instead of traveling 1997 to Tuscany or in to large construction site in Berlin, the Fimklasse Münster Academy of Art traveled to the unknown Buckow, 50 km east of Berlin. We landed, 'in a manor house in the neighboring village Ihlow.
From here we explored the Märkische Schweiz / Germany, we visited a former secret bunker of the NVA, a theater initiative, a railway museum and a "self-realization Church".
The Art Academy Münster / Germany is a University of Fine Arts. In terms of liberal arts here artists and art educators are studying in joint classes in the fields of painting, sculpture, installation art, performance, photography, film and new media. Besides history, criticism, theory and didactics of art form the scientific priorities. The principle of the studio studying under the direction of each artist professor goes back to the artistic education at the classical art academies and is fundamentally different from rate regimes as they were introduced about in Anglo-Saxon countries.
Founded in 1971 as the Institute of Art Educator as part of the Art Academy Dusseldorf, the Art Academy Münster in 1987 became independent. Since 2001, all areas of the Art Academy Münster are gathered together with a separate library in a new building, which was designed specifically for its purposes. Over the past 25 years, the Art Academy Münster developed to a place with an international reputation.
The Filmklasse was founded by Lutz Mommartz and since then always had a special role inside the Art Academy Münster reflecting about new media, far more than only film.
The Lutz Mommartz Film Archive is a collection of the film works of German film-maker Lutz Mommartz, considered to be one of the pioneers in the film genre known as the "other cinema". Mommartz was born in Erkelenz in 1934 and spent most of his life in Düsseldorf. He began making movies in 1967 and eventually became Professor of Film at the Kunstakademie Münster. He still lives and works in Germany, dividing his time between Düsseldorf and Berlin.

Insight into an ordinary german soldier's mind
Now and during ww2 and how he relates to the present. I now understand a little more about the German mentality and how they rose again to be the managers of Europe without a military.
